Speeding Vehicles in the Parish

We felt parishioners may be interested to hear recent information recorded on the A68 in West Woodburn, a stretch which has a 30mph speed limit. The data shows the following trends: 

• about 350 vehicles a week are travelling at over 50mph
• 80-90 vehicles per week are over 60mph, with some well in excess of 70mph.
• The worst times for excess speed are 06:00-09:00 and 15:00-18:00

It is especially concerning that the times when children are heading to and from school is when the roads are most dangerous.

The police and NCC have been made aware.
