i. The tickets for the play are now on sale, the council wish to thank Ildy and John at the for continuing to sell tickets in the village shop, West Woodburn.

County Councillor’s Report

 

 

i. The A68 is due to fully reopen after the landslip repair is completed this week. ii Average speed cameras, such as those recently installed in Otterburn could be a good addition to West Woodburn. Clerk to directly ask the C.Cllr responsible for Highways.

Ongoing Actions List 

Talks are ongoing to get two quotes for speed sign repair. The complaint sent to the TWM former directors has raised no response, still unable to find the company allegedly called Prism who took over warrantees.

Play Area & Village Green 

 

i. Paving slabs have been put in the small gateway to the play area to help prevent a large puddle and allow the gate to swing freely and remain closed. ii One quote re the equipment cleaning has been received. It is hoped more quotes will follow. iii Options for fence treatment discussed, to be revisited in March. iv. Wetland wildflower seed has been purchased and will be spread by Friends of Corsenside.

Volunteers and Community Spending

 

Cllr Riddle has offered funding of up to £2200 towards defibrillator. Additional funding would be needed to buy a solar and wind device suitable for east Woodburn. Clerk to apply to RWF.

Wind Power Stations – No meeting since last report.

Parish Hall 

 

i £246 was raised by the music night to be shared between the parish churches and the air ambulance. ii Shetland ponies are due to be the special guest at the tabletop sale on 29th November. iii Work continues to sort out the electricity rates. Cllr. Hamilton asked for the gratitude of the council and wider community to be passed to the hall trustees.

The clerk shared a budget update with the council. A meeting of several councillors and the clerk is to take place to set the budget for next year and determine the required council tax Precept. An internal audit is to be arranged.

Matters for discussion at the Chair’s discretion
i. Cllr Hawman pointed out the need for a .gov domain and associated email addresses for councillors. This should be in place by the next financial year. Clerk to clarify next steps from the Association of Local Councils who were due to issue guidance on this. ii. Cllr Woodgate queried the Fourlaws paths, and their intended repairs. Cllr Hamilton to follow this up with Forestry England.
