Matters arising from the minutes

1.    The EV car charging company Believe have checked The Gun and the Village Green at West Woodburn and neither site have a suitable infrastructure for the installation of an EV car charger. This may change in future.

2.    Cllr Smith and the Clerk met with the Environment Agency and the County Council about the installation of a flood warning/ road closed sign. A suitable site has been chosen based on the vegetation along the verge and space for cars to turn around. Installation is expected imminently.

3.    Data about speeding vehicles in the Parish has been shared publicly.

Play Area & Village Green

1.   Only one company so far has returned a quote for cleaning the Play area equipment - £400 +VAT. Clerk to ask Chris Mowatt and NCC if they can undertake this work. Cllr Smith volunteered to begin a manual clean and monitor the time taken.

2.  Detailed plans for the wetland wildflower meadow were approved. Cllr Hamilton and the Clerk to measure the space in order that accurate prices be obtained. Clerk to seek funding streams.

Volunteers and Community Spending

 

 

The Burncliffe Electrical bill for the Ridsdale defibrillator installation has been clarified and can now be paid.

Wind Power Stations - no updates.

12.   

 

Parish Hall  

1.      £227 has been offered to help purchase electric oil filled radiators.

2.      It is hoped the generator can be bought soon, storage concerns remain.

3.      Upcoming events include: a Tabletop sale on 23rd November; the Christmas Play organised by the Parish Council on Thursday 12th December at 7pm; a children’s party hosting approximately 130 local children on 21st December.

4.      The Parish Council agreed to support the children’s party with a donation of £100. 

5.      The parish council observed the positive changes at the Hall and the increased usage and thanked the Hall committee.

Correspondence

 

   A complaint has been received about parking on the paths in West Woodburn; a situation which forced a disabled visitor to walk along the road. Clerk to put out a public reminder about the need for consideration.

2.      Emmersons Solicitors has forwarded the final deeds for the former school field following the successful asset transfer last year.

Matters for discussion at the Chair’s discretion

1.      Cllr Traill drew attention to several concerns about the school transport system. Clerk to contact Go Ahead re the local bus time to ask if the service could begin slightly sooner. Other issues to be researched and revisited in the December meeting.

2.     It was agreed to hold the Play ticket prices at £7 adult, £3.50 Child and £17 Family (2 adults 2 children)
